On September 24, 2024, Chiriquí will host one of the most exciting sporting events of the year: the International Marathon of the Americas Boquete – David. This race, held for the second time, promises to be a benchmark event for runners from around the world.

The marathon will cover a distance of 42.195 km, starting in the picturesque district of Boquete and ending in David, the capital of Chiriquí province. The race will begin at 4:00 AM, and participants can compete individually or in mixed relay teams of 6 people. Additionally, there will be a Half Marathon of 21 km and a Mini Marathon for minors, ensuring there is a category for every level of runner.

Panamanian Cristopher Jurado and Colombian Brigitte Forero were crowned champions, with times of 2 hours 22 minutes and 2 hours 50 seconds, respectively. The competition was intense, and the route from Boquete to David stood out for its scenic beauty and technical challenge.
